I look forward to these birthdays AND bells. I didn't know you were into Morris dancing, Bob? Can Martello and I watch you eating your lunch please? We have an odd fascination with morris dancers eating lunch.

Oh dear, sorry...I appear to have lost my kit, I'd bring a bell, like that annoying Portsmouth supporter who rings it all the time at Fratton Park. Imagine a whole season sitting next to that. At least with Eastbournes abnd you can move away from the row!!

1) Depends what time I can get his majesty out of bed ;D 10:15 hopefully, otherwise 10:45. 2) Hopefully 11:01, just giving the pubs enough time to open their doors for us If we don't make it, 11:31. The Live and Let Live (nr station) allegedly opens at 11.30. Given this information, wouldn't it be best to have a birthday lie in and then arrive at Cambridge station around 11:30? You could then make the short walk to the Live and Let Live, which has enough beer variety to keep most people going to KO - if not, there is a similar boozer just down the road. Sounds far better than walking past it for an additional few minutes in a Gr**n* K*ng boozer to me!

(I am sober. But tomorrow things may be different! ;D ) Right, I'm aiming to arrive in Cambridge at 11.31. If I haven't seen any of you on the train, I hope to catch up with you soon afterwards in one of that city's many fine hostelries. Here's looking forward to a day of Sal-ebration and inebriation! A victory for Sutton over those lily-shirted Fenmen would be the icing on the pint!

Should be a good one, i'm sure that ably led by Amber and grand ale master AA, who will no doubt steer the party crowd around the minefield of GK pubs an onto fine local ales, a fine day will be in order. Can't bloody wait

May i be the first to say... i feel it would be of comedic benefit to the rest of the tinpotters (and potentially invaluable to cambridge police ) if there was a camera present at this cambridge trip of yours tomorrow!

There is indeed some photographic evidence of Saturday's exploits in Cambridge - though, sadly, not in my possession. I have to say that not quite as much alcohol was consumed as might have been expected. A certain tinpot celebrity couple went AWOL for a couple of hours during the evening's drinking. ;D But Medibot and I did our best to keep the side up. I entered into the spirit of the evening by just missing the last direct train back to King's Cross: Medi and I had to endure a nightmare night bus journey from Finsbury Park to Clapham Junction. But all in all a fun day out, crowned by a superlative first half performance from the mighty U's who romped to a 3-0 lead in 25 minutes, then hung on to win 3-2.

In a round about way it still lived up to all expectations. Nowt better than getting lashed on fine ale with yer mates after a rousing away win. I also had a lovely stay at Gatwick Airport after the Finsbury-Clapham bus nightmare (silly me assuming the tube would actually connect with trains stopping short of Kings Cross) which was not massively comfy but warm and tinpot all the same. Nobody thought to ask what i was doing in there when i blatantly wasn't flying but still, food and warmth and perfect positioning for the first train to Brighton Bob disappointed with the actual bells Silly pictures were taken though. A toast to tinpot idiotics!

Sorry Medi no bells m8. Rather let the side down with regard to the booze stakes, and stayed at the football club for the race night, rather than being adventurous with Medi and AA. Good Job really as that bus ride sounded awful!! Mind you I'd run out of cash by about 7 o'clock anyway.

You were there in spirit BH, or should i say in Ale We had to keep both our reputation for drinking and for inter-club pleasantness alive

A certain tinpot celebrity couple went AWOL for a couple of hours during the evening's drinking. ;D Oi! Don't make it sound so... tinpot! We were only checking in at our guest house. This establishment is advertised as being near the station but is in fact about three miles up the Newmarket Road, beyond Cambridge United's ground, which we were somewhat puzzled to discover smells faintly of coconut. Anyone- why does Cambridge United's ground smell of coconut?

WHAT was tinpot?
Please give Tinpoticity values for each of the following items:
a) Disappearing to check in at a guest house and losing the drinkers b) The guest house being miles away from its advertised location c) Newmarket Road d) The guesthouse being near Cambridge United e) Cambridge United smelling of coconut
MY theory is that United are tinpot and eat nothing but macaroons.
