Bloody Hell Giggy, rather you than me! Good on you though being able to handle those subjects, i'm struggling and i'm just taking less errr 'academic' options! Personally I'd go for the 3 and do them well, i'd imagine medicine is a pretty competitive course to get on. What unis are you looking at? Just finished my personal statement and to put it nicely, it's poo...but then again i go to a reasonably good school and would consider myself 'reasonably' intelligent *cough* and am only applying to polytechnics...so i'm not too concerned at the moment ;D get a horrible feeling this approach will come crashing down around me come next year though, but ah well! There are some good websites that help with personal statements, but other than that, what Medi said is good, regarding applying everything you do to medicine. i've somehow managed to add in that captaining my football team means i have good communication skills (and so automatically i'd make a great journalist hmmm...). Sometimes i think i'm better at making myself sound great than actually being great I don't have the time or the space here to give my argument against that!

Thanks for the advice everyone, obviously I'll wait for my results and ask people at college before making a final decision, I definitely won't do 5 subjects next year though!
I was looking at Universities with medical schools which aren't too far from home. I need to look around most of them still but ones I was looking at included Keele, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Sheffield and a few others I have down as maybes including Cardiff for example.
It used to be that you could make 6 applications to Universities, this year they lowered it to 5 for no real reason, not all 5 are supposed to be medicine though as it's a competitive course to get on and you should have a backup. My backup is something along the lines of Biochemistry, possibly at Liverpool/Keele. Do a 3 year course in that and then do a post-grad course in medicine after which would be 4 years rather than the standard 5 year medicine course. It would take 2 years longer in total but lead to the same place in the end hopefully. I'd rather get in to begin with obviously but medicine is the only thing I want to go into and only job I'm interested in doing is doctor so I will do as much work as I need to get there.

Just a lateral thought. Can you somehow make 2 (or more) totally separate bids at University entrance? What's the defining criterion which prevents you? I'm not a sneaky type, but it'd be great if you could balls it out and manage to get twice as many interviews for nothing. Twice the chance of acceptance, more or less... I guess there's an exam qualification code or UCAS number or something?

As far as i recall there's a UCAS number. I got into everywhere i applied to except for Loughborough which wasn't surprising cos it was neither my first, or back up choice and they don't like that.

Two more players for AFCTU.
John Dillon has come in on a trial. He was released from the Crewe youth team. A midfielder, came on from the bench in our game against Kidderminster and showed some useful touches. As he has not actually signed he was not available to play in the Malvern match because he was in talks with another club.
Jon Adams actually played against us in the Kidderminster match where he was on trial with Kidderminster. He played for us against Malvern last night, had a decent game and scored a good goal in our 3-2 win. There was interest from other clus but he has signed for Telford now. Last season he was Leamington's player of the year.

Defender Andy Jones has left the club. He states his reason as being due to his recent form being not as good as he would like it to be and would like a fresh start elsewhere.
We have signed a new defender, 20 year old 6'4" Rob Pacey has signed from Doncaster Rovers.
Trialist Andy Tretton has been released apparently, I haven't heard anything of John Dillon but no news on him signing so I'm assuming nothing came from that.
Some sources reckon #2 keeper Damien Stevens has left, some reckon he's just on loan to Shawbury though. I'm not too sure.

We appear to have come to some sort of relationship with Altrincham whereby we can use 3 players of theirs if they aren't playing for Altrincham that day. The only reason I mention this is because one of these players is the brilliantly named Cavel Coo! ;D I hope he plays frequently this season.

We've signed two players called Greene and White. Guess what our away colours are? ;D (I should give AmberSal the credit for spotting that one. The Greene is Nick Greene, who was with Y***ing last season. The White is Ross White who's come to us from Woking.
